[NU Sports] Grandma's pump and the Cats

My grandparents had an old hand pump on their farm you could pump it all day and not get any water. But pour a glass of water in it, and you could pump out water all day.

The Cats are like that pump. Then need the opposing team to waterboard them for a quarter or two before they start playing. At game's end, they have fans' heads swirling. Kafka plays a gusty game but throws three interceptions. The running backs do nothing until Concannon starts running in the fourth quarter. The special teams look like they came right out of the dreadful years, then they block a punt. The defense gives up a 70-yard run on the first play but pretty much shut down the Indiana running game after that. And somehow the other coach always manages to make one stupid decision - as in not going for a field goal in an obvious situation or punting to put the Cats deep. What's with these guys?

Somehow, someway we managed to win this game. That shows character, but I wish they'd start playing in a way in which they don't NEED to show character at the end because several times this season it hasn't been enough.

Do I dare hope we'll beat Penn State?
