They didn't speed their rate of play up on that final drive. 11 plays
in 4:19 is 23.5 seconds per play, about the same as their other long drives
today. Of course, that means they didn't slow it down, either.
The important thing was, they took it all the way rather than settle for
yet another red zone field goal. That made a big difference, Purdue
couldn't just settle for a game-winning field goal.
I'm not sure what talent they've got in the queue, but it looks like UDub
may only be a year away from being a serious factor in the Pac 10 again.
Their execution inside the 5 today made ours look good. The Irish should
have lost that game by a good 10 points.
The Sooners are looking confused tonight, especially on defense. Can Miami
find a way to fudge this one up?
I don't think I've ever seen a season with so many games decided in the
last minute and high profile teams going into OT, proving again that
college football is so much more entertaining than the NFL.
