As noted, not pretty, but a big "W".? If we had lost on last play or two, I don't think any of us would have slept a wink tonight, given how many possessions we had in good field position and how we had to settle for FG's. And Kafka, who did play great (for the most part), was sacked on second to last drive, leaving us out of FG position, a play that made me very unhappy.?
If we get past Redhawks next week at home, then big road trip to a revived Sparty.
Meanwhile, best part for Yours Truly, was that this was first 'Cat game I ever was able to view at home on Big Ten Network.? Cablevision picked up the extra tier game and put 'Cats-Boilers on Channel 414.? No more Buffalo Wild Wings outings for this boy.:-)
Ah, here's RichRod on post-game press conference on BTN.? Glad to see him looking so grim.? Plus, we're tied with Wolves in conference stsnding now, so I'm lovin' this.
Have to say that with all the mistakes and lack of focus at beginning of game, and silly things like delay of game penalty at end of Third Quarter, that the "Fitz Ethic" of never give up, go for strips and turnovers, and be physical for 60 minutes, was the key today.? This was a validating win for our HC, because we came from nowhere, 21-3, and somehow pitched a shutout the rest of the way.? Unbelievable.? No doubt that key play of game was McManis pick.? Purdue "O" never seemed to recover its Mojo until very end.?
