A bit stunned by the news (though as mentioned, surviving that first round was key) and sad. Chicago would have made a spectacular host.

It certainly has that world-class beauty that most Olympic cities in recent years (Athens, Barcelona, Sydney, etc.) had with the gorgeous Lake Michigan waterfront and skyline. And it's about as big of a sports town as you can get!

Kind of odd when you look at the US cities who have hosted (LA, Atlanta and St. Louis) and how they really have neither of those qualities. Heck, even among the other US cities vying to host recently (New York and San Francisco) - CHicago may be equalled in world-class beauty and status, but the Windy City is far more of a sports town.

Oh well, it will be nice to see an Olympics in South America and Rio certainly has that grand beauty and love of sport. Just kind of bummed to see Chicago passed over so quickly.

GO CATS!!!
