It's possible but unlikely, especially since NU has been passed over twice
by the Outback (in 2000 in favor of OSU and last year in favor of Iowa).
I'd say that the Champs Sports Bowl is all but locked in at this point, even
if the Big Ten doesn't get 2 teams into the BCS - since Wisconsin was at the
Champs last year (and were in Orlando 3 of the last 4 years), making it
quite possible that NU would get that bid if everyone was bumped down a
spot.
But, we'll just have to wait and see at this point since we'll just have to
wait for the BCS at-large bids to be handed out on Sunday Dec. 6.
It was great to see the students rush the field after a great ending to an
8-4 season. Note that NU is now guaranteed to have at least a .500 record
for the decade which hasn't happened in decades.
