[NU Sports] First 20 or so minutes ...

- LOVE the opening drive! Great zip on Kafka's passes

- Wish we would have taken more advantage than just 10-0 by the time the quarter ended

- The D is stuffing the run well, but we need better coverage

- I think we may have finally found a team with equally poor special teams ... either that or our kickoff return team worked Michigan-like practice hours this week:)

- DANG FUMBLE!!!

- We stopped them on 4th down - bad spot

- Horrible yellow line spotter today ... the announcers more than once seem clueless about where the real first down is

- STUPID mistakes on the drive following the Badgers taking a 14-10 lead -- can't have these dumb false starts!

- GREAT throw by Kafka and a GREAT catch by Brewer to go up 17-14

So now it's 17-14 CATS and given the history between these two teams, I think we may be in for a wild ride the final few minutes of the half and after they return from the locker rooms.

But I like our focus and sharpness today both offensively and defensively -- we're up for this game. Now let's just keep it through four quarters!

PS - One factor in our focus today beside the Coach Hank/revenge thing is that a lot of our key players have Wisconsin ties. It's not a big deal for a kid from Illinois to not be recruited by NU, but for a kid in Wisconsin to not head off to Madison leaves a nice chip on his shoulder and NU has been feeding off that chip from the days of Matt Rice through today.
