[NU Sports] At the half

Yawn! (Until the final minute)

The word is "tackle," not "tickle," defense. Please remember that in the second half. And offensive line: Your job is to block pass rushers, not caress them.

Some questionable offensive coaching calls: 1) Did they have to run Persa six times in a row? Did they think Ill-noise wouldn't realize that would be the play on third down? 2) Not punting on that fourth down near mid-field. That was disaster waiting to happen. Under the heading it's-sometimes-better-to-be-lucky-than-good, Nate Williams saved the day, and the offense finally came to life.

The announcers are utterly unprepared for this game: mispronouncing several players' names and being unaware of Kafka's hamstring and Wooten's ankle injuries. Ugly job of sportscasting. At least we know one of them likes NASCAR.

I predict NU will take command in the second half.
