I completely agree on the postseason. I can live with the BCS -- actually one of the most amusing things about the BCS comes from watching those who hate it so froth at the pen/computer (hi SjT) -- but I want to do ditch it to bring back the old ways. 

There can be no such thing OTHER than a MNC under ANY system. Take two points of many; 1) Does anybody think "playoff" games will be played in  cold weather? Yet many teams are built to survive cold-weather games. 2) There is not nearly any kind of level playing field with academics and standards now. Even leaving NU and Stanford and the like aside, does anybody seriously think the same standards and expectations for student-athletes exist at Florida State, Alabama and Oklahoma, say, as at Wisconsin, Cal, and North Carolina? (Of course it is even worse in basketball.)

Play to a conference title and win a bowl game. Everything above that is ultimately sound and fury signifying nothing.
