One reason I chose NU over an Ivy league school was for its interscholastic sports in a major conference. Turned out to be a frustrating mistake at the time as I attended in the late 70's

I suspect that the percentage of the undergraduate student body in attendance at
Northwestern games may be higher than at Nebraska.
But part of the problem is that something like 90% of Nebraska grads are likely to
be living within driving distance of Lincoln, but maybe 20% of Northwestern grads
are living within driving distance of Evanston.
I think it's fantastic that we have a number of people on this list who travel great
distances to NU games each year, but driving 10 hours EACH WAY got to be too much of a
hassle for us, especially if we can't leave until after work on Friday and there's an
11AM kickoff on Saturday. (Flying is not much better time-wise due to airline schedules
and much more expensive.)
