I agree that the economy is not a sufficient excuse for NU's attendance
woes.  We all know the slew of issues involved.  Sure, the economy doesn't
help, but it's not one of the primary causes.

Once again, I have to strongly disagree with you (and I always disagree with
NU fans who seemingly throw the program under the bus for not winning a
championship every year).  Northwestern has, in fact, put together the most
consistently good decade and a half of Wildcat football ever.  The Wildcats
have now won six or more games in six of the last seven years and have gone
to four bowls (likely to become five) this decade.  As I've mentioned
numerous times before, NU will not become a football factory.  Even so,
other teams that aren't factories are able to bring in fans, and hopefully
NU will do what it can to emulate them.  I root for NU to win every game but
I'm also a realist.
