How come we can beat Iowa and Penn State can't?

Iowa lost their starting QB and became one dimensional. 

  Even teams with more talent than us have a difficult time winning without their starting QB.

  I wasn't talking about this season.  Since '96 we have beaten Iowa a number of times when Penn State couldn't, even in the years when we couldn't come close to matching Penn State.
