[NU Sports] How come?

That's the thing about Big Ten football that outsiders just don't get.

The rivalries here are so deep and the stadiums/fans such a big part of the games that some teams just have the other's number regardless on record or location or team.

BTW - the offensive coordinator of Iowa should come under a lot of fire in Iowa City this week for calling a naked bootleg in the end zone, leaving his QB unprotected in the face of Wootten. Griese mentioned it briefly during the game, but it got lost in the shuffle.

Another interesting comment during the game was NU starting 20 or so different kids on defense this year. That was supposed to be our rock-solid unit this year and they've been hit with a lot of injuries. Having Wootten and McManis back at near full strength really helps.
