Like it or not, the market sets the price. I won't argue that there aren't a lot of overpaid pros not to mention college coaches, but that is just the way it is in this environment.

That is actually an issue that has gotten some press here in Indiana 
lately: The highest-paid state employee is Tom Crean. He makes more 
than his boss, the AD; more than the presidents of IU or Purdue; more 
than the governor of the state. And to make matters worse, though he no 
longer shows up on the list of employees, the second-highest payout to 
an individual went to Kelvin Sampson. The Pacers are crying about 
losing money and asking for taxpayer help while paying millions to guys 
who ride the bench. I don't think it will go anywhere, but there is a 
vocal minority who is screaming about the choices that we are making as 
a society when it comes to paying for sports. And though I don't agree 
with them completely, they raise some good points.
