I  still have an issue with paying huge bucks for a coach at NU--I am sure I 
am in the minority here , but I think it sends the wrong signal of  our 
school's priorities--I am not sure where the happy middle is, --obviously we have to 
attract and/or retain good coaches , such as Fitz, but I also feel 
uncomfortable with the mentality that  a coach can be paid perhaps 10 X  (or whatever) 
our top faculty---

Without screaming too loudly, these out of proportion salaries of  top people 
to teachers , doctors, etc   has certainly contributed to the mess the 
economy is in--If a coach can make $2 MM--it's fine for a VP at a bank to make that 
kind of money and vice versa, etc etc

 I could go on and on
