John, the Cats need a lot to make the NCAA, but if they do not they will certainly be in the NIT. If NU is not in the NCAA or the NIT this year, I will personally pay your dues this year for the Optimists' Club.

The long and the short of it i that NU lost and one more year when NU doesn't get to the NCAA. As Shon Morris said the only way NU gets in is to sweep the Big Ten tournament. Yes, Carmody has won more games than any previous coach, but then he has been there longer than any other coach I believe. It may even be a stretch to get into the NIT but I suppose that prospect is still there

?? We lost this game because Evan Turner, who is considererd in many circles the B10 MVP took over.? Remember, we lead 45-43 after Thompson's 4 point play.? Who cares that we were down 6-21. We came back to take the lead.? Ohio St. won this game; Carmedy did not lose it. 
? NU has been a resiliant bunch.? Fot the 1st time since the B10 started tournement play, we have a legitimate shot to 1) win the tournement 2) win 2,3 games to get us in contention. 
? A crippling loss no doubt. Also, no time to "blame the coach".

First the bus that was susposed to take the team to the game shows up an hour 
late because the driver forgot to change his clock to DST and Carmody shows his 
leadership by not grabbing enough cabs to at least get the team to the stadium 
for some pregame shoot arounds . With the team uptight at the start of the game, 
he doesn't call timeout to calm down the players, Tht first half blowout sealed 
NU.s fate. And some people think Carmody is a great coach???
