?? I'm not certain how to act at this time of year.? Most of the time our list is talking about Spring football, this year its the "T" word. A few things we know:
1) This team has improved as the season progressed.? As we held off Purdue, some of the plays were what "T" teams do. Even Rawley sucked up a big rebound and flipped it to Ryan, who layed it in.? Kudos to our bench; another trait of a "T" team.
2) We know how to win. Another sign of improving as the season went along.
3) Players like Nash and Shurna are oozing of confidence. They see what Coble and Moore are doing, and want a piece of the action.
? If we win tomorrow, we are squarely on the bubble.? (OK NU grads, let me have it concerning this "oxxy-moron" :)?? 9-9, 18-11.? I've heard more than one talking head say that (1) win in the Big 10 tournement would get us in, as the selection committee understands we played less games; i.e. we didn't schedule (2) more road bumps to pad our record.? Additionally, our win vs. FSU looms big even with their depressing news; for God's sake root for FSU!!
? As Jim B. implores us to do, we need to "Expect Victory" tomorrow.? If we lose (or win), we know we can win games in the tournement (B10).? For the first time since I've been a Cat fan (1978), if we win the conference tournement, it wouldn't be a surprise.? We go 8-9 deep, and could thrive in a 4 day event.? And if the NIT is meant to be, lets make sure us East Coast Cats fill Madison Square Garden for the finals!
???? GO CATS!!!?????????? Eric

<Since this team has demonstrated their ability to improve enough in all?
<those to be in the hunt at the end of the season, the only plausible?
<explanation is that BC is actually a pretty good coach.?
?
I have always said that Carmody is an excellent coach who always gets the most out of his players. The problem is that he didn't recruit many good players and never any great ones. While we still don't have any players making NBA scouts drool, we do have a number of pretty good college-level players who have improved over the course of this season. Coble, for example, is creating shots. When is the last time you can recall a Northwestern player doing that? If one guy goes cold, someone else can pick up the slack, a rarity for the boys in purple. This team has turned disaster into something exciting is doing it with younger players. If Rowley can grow into that big body and make himself into something resembling a center - and that is a big if - we might be looking at a run for the Big Ten title next season. However, I still have those 45 years of failure to keep me from getting too eager. ?
