[NU Sports] Dumb, dumb, dumb

One wonders - will the season ticket base be asked about this ?? I don't recall them asking when the Ohio State home game was moved to Cleveland (and I think we paid extra for that game, beyond the season ticket cost).?
I still think that the political part (wrigleyville's alderman (Tunney ?), Daley) might be the trickiest - an interesting test for Phillips, as NU's relationship with Evanston is brutal (I am stunned they ever allow us to play night games).? If we can't get along with Evanston (which we essentially created), can we expect to have any better luck with Chicago, which either despises us as elitist, or ignores us completely ?? (As others have mentioned, forays into the city, with our south side coach, might tend to strengthen our position as 'Chicago's Team')? Will the residents of wrigleyville veto the idea (based on NU's suburban/elitist status ?)? I can already picture the Sun-Times headline 'Wrigleyville to NU - Stay in Evanston !'? Or will the tavern owners lobby harder to get the game - probably lobbying for a 2:30 start, with ample drinking before and after ?? Will Daley have leased 'Special Events Rights' to some company in Spain for 99 years ?
I do like Rice as an opponent - they can't possibly outnumber us, and their fans tend to be courteous and well-behaved.?? Could we fill up the stadium with Rice, however ??? Would a less-than-full Wrigley be worse, image-wise, than a 2/3 empty Dyche ?? In?light of the Goph's decision?not to serve liquor at their new stadium, would we allow beer sales at the game ?? Would we even be given a choice in the matter ?? I seem to recall beer sales at the Soldier Field games, but I might be wrong.

While I understand why some people would object to the Wrigley proposal, I can
think of one game in particular where there is every reason to play the game at
Wrigley and no good reason to play it in Evanston.
I'm referring to the scheduled November 26, 2011 home game against Rice. A
nonconference game. The last game of the season. During Thanksgiving break. When
no students will be on campus.
If this game against Rice is played in Evanston, it will set a record for the
worst home game attendance in NU history. On the other hand, if it is played at
Wrigley, there will be a big crowd, and it will be big news.
