Patton's end run, and that prayer for better weather, sure helped.

The Army Air Corps ability to fly after Christmas (the prayer worked) didn't
hurt the guys on the ground either.

AND when the German's ran out of gas....

It was all over. - but it probably stopped Patton from getting to Berlin
first.

"Nuts!" was the exact word.  General Anthony McAuliffe said them at Bastogne

in response to a German demand for surrender.  The Germans were somewhat 
confused, and then the Americans whooped them.
