[NU Sports] I don't care about about BCS $$

Steven' analysis is thorough and enjoyable to read as always, but I feel it's pitched to the wrong theme.
 
I couldn't care less whether the Big 10 makes BCS money or not. I do mildly care that the BCS takes two Big 10 teams, because in theory that could help Northwestern get a better bowl spot, except that it rarely does because Florida bowl committees hate the 'Cats.
 
What matters to me is the Big 10/PAC-10 Rose Bowl tradition, and anything that gets in the way of that is what bothers me. If OSU wins the Big Ten and goes BCS and NU comes in second and winds up in the Barf Bowl while East Carolina, SMU or Idaho is on Colorado Boulevard because of this new policy, who cares about BCS money? 
 
I admit to being an unabashed fan of the old pre-BCS bowl setup and I am not a playoff fan. But if we're going to destroy any tradition the bowls have we might as well have a playoff rather than Boise State in the Rose Bowl over Northwestern.
