Yes. The NY Giants always had a bunch of away games to start the season when they played at Yankee Stadium while the Yankees were always going to the WS. Of course I was joking about the cubs but nonetheless I like the idea

As one who remembers very well when there were Bears games at Wrigley,
there was never enough padding on the outfield wall and I recall a few
football players who got injured when they crashed into the wall at
full speed.

The Bears and the Cubs dealt with the possibility of a schedule confclit
for years (though the Cubs seldom made it a serious concern and the NFL
season didn't start as early then as it does now), all you really need
to avoid is the first 3 weeks or so of October. The pitchers always
grumbled about having to throw from a re-built pitcher's mound after
Bears games were held there, though.

The Trib is set to announce the winning bid for the Cubs in the next
week or so. (One of the three finalists is the Ricketts family from
Omaha, founders of AmeriTrade, it must be tough to be the 2nd richest
family in the state and TENS OF BILLIONS of dollars out of first place.)
I wonder if that decision will factor into this?
