I was a history minor at NU and that department had giants teaching there. I kept in touch with Dr. Leopold up until his death. He too lamented what was happening with respect to teaching history. Ray Billington wasanother terrific professor who had started off as a reporter for the Detroit Free Press. The PC police would have run bothof these people off the campus given the opportunty It is a cinch that neither Leopold or Billington would have been given tenure let alone hired in today's environment. Dr. Leopold was the person who saved NROTC at NU when the PC police wanted to kick if off the campus.
