[NU Sports] media "bias", then back to FB

FWIW the newsroom at the paper I work at (suburban Philadelphia) was 70 percent for McCain, easily.
Also, Dennis, ANYONE's grasp of history these days (and I speak as one with graduate work in U.S. history), not just journalists', is pathetic. History as you and I know it is often not taught any longer; "social studies" has taken its place or it’s been severely cut back due to “No Child Left Behind” math/reading focus.
At my high school (private, college prep) several veteran history teachers resigned or retired when “social studies” was brought in to replace history (that happened several years after I graduated, thank goodness!).
But back to FB and the offensive line. Since the version of the spread NU uses emphasizes quick-hit passes and short passes (too much so, I know, for many of us; look what happened when CJ went downfield in the Alamo Bowl) I think any effective NU QB will have a “quick release”.
What I worry about is the QB developing confidence in a relatively untested bunch of receivers. You don’t “release” the ball unless you think they will catch it.
Also, the key to avoiding sacks, other than the OL doing its job well, is a QB developing that “instinct” of when the heat is coming and thus getting rid of the ball. Some QBs have this (Dan Marino, Brett Basanez); others much less so (Neil O’Donnell, Vinny Testaverde). I am not sure it can be taught.
