No cheap shot.  If the discussion is the demise of the newspaper industry, 
liberal bias is a factor.  The difference between news and op-ed has 
blurred, and the overwhelming slant is left.

In the course of publishing two books on the Civil War, I have been 
interviewed by newspapers several times by a variety of journalists.  In 
every case, it was clear within a minute that I was talking to someone who 
lacked even junior high knowledge of history, and not one story has cited me 
accurately even when they record the interview.  And the old adage of spell 
the names properly no longer applies, it seems.
