I'm going to preface this by saying that i have high hopes for next year's O-line, given what i would call an acceptable performance (for such a young group) this year, the likely improvement as they mature, and the redshirt freshman we already have plus Patrick Ward we're getting next year.
But, i don't think it's a given. I could argue that part of their pass-blocking success had to do with CJ having a pretty quick release. I think CJ made them look better, just as Tyrell made them look like better run blockers when he was available. When Kafka was in, the pass-blocking didn't hold up as well (if i remember correctly).
I guess we'll find out more next year.
Shawn

On a subjective basis, this year I'd say the O-line did a pretty good job on pass protection, but only an "OK" job on run blocking. That impression seems to fit Mike' stats.
Opening up running lanes was a problem all year, especially compared to, say, Sutton's first year.
However, this was a very young line. The results were fairly impressive given that fact, although the Sutton/Conteh injuries really hurt the running game late in the season.
