Fair enough but I remember about 10 years ago I was still reading the
Sentinel (a Trib paper) the NYT, the WSJ, the Economist, Business week, Forbes,
Fortune and a few others in paper form. Now I read the Sentinel and SI in paper
form and 20 other publications on the web, I get a lot more "serious details"
which I can cross reference on Wickapedia or search on Google, it is a new
world for news, papers are going back to what they do, classified (although
Craig's list, etc are killing them) movie reviews (see rotten tomatoes) and
breaking news (try 24 hour local news on TV) My friends in the newspaper
business are depressed for good reason, like the yellow pages, it has been killed
by the internet.

Much to reporters' dismay, what you see in the paper is actually much more
driven by you, the reader. So if we're pointing fingers at the quality of
stories seen in newspapers these days, with short snippet articles, loads of
gossip and fluffy pieces that ignore serious details going on, just remember that
the other four are back at you.
