What you say is a good argument for J-School students to be required to take some economics, finance and science courses to supplement their majors. It strikes me that too many in the media tend to demonstrate their ignorance with great enthusiasm. It would also make sense in my opinion to require law school applicants to have worked at least at couple of years before going to law school. The top MBA programs require that kind of experience before going into their MBA program.
