The O-line was much better than I expected, but still had some problems.

They had few holding penalties and did not allow many sacks. Sack total is a factor of the QBs internal clock which CJ was very good at and quick hitting plays which tends to be our forte. CJ is also elusive in that he rolls away from pressure effectively even if he does not run well.

The O-line could not overpower anyone. If we needed 2 yards on 3rd down we better be throwing it or have some trick play, because the defense is sure to stop us running up the middle.

Since Dunbar we have had NO power running game. Everytime I see the I-formation I cringe.

On a subjective basis, this year I'd say the O-line did a pretty good job on pass protection, but only an "OK" job on run blocking. That impression seems to fit Mike' stats.

Opening up running lanes was a problem all year, especially compared to, say, Sutton's first year.

However, this was a very young line. The results were fairly impressive given that fact, although the Sutton/Conteh injuries really hurt the running game late in the season.
