But that's part of the reason for Michigan State's success in the Izzo 
era.  Tom Izzo has said that he'll play anyone, anywhere, anytime, and 
their non-conference schedule each year lives up to that.  And they 
usually lose some of those tough NC games (I meant that as 
non-conference, but this year it was also UNC).  But they are so much 
tougher for it come conference play and NCAA tourney time.  And 
everybody wins because the fans (and the whole country, a lot of the 
time) get to watch great non-conference basketball games.
