This is a NU sports list.  The better question is how does a playoff system affect NU?

The bowl system in its current screwed up incarnation is unfortunately the best for NU.  For us ANY bowl game is a positive and the fact that we can go 6-6 and with the BCS at-large still go to Detroit/Tempe is a good thing.

With a playoff I see the minor bowls dying and given the fact that we are not often in the top 16(largest playoff scenario) often we would more than likely be always home for the holidays.

I wish we could go back to pre-BCS days as a "national championship" is a meaningless and still not without controversy no matter what scenario you come up with.

If we were one of the likely suspects(OSU, USC, etc.) and had a home playoff game in late December this would be a miserable experience for the people in the stands(I would be there)!  If you had all "away" games for northern teams, which is what the current bowl system provides the fans would have trouble with travel plans.  Personally we have to reserve a kennel, schedule vacations, and buy plane tickets all which are non-trivial.

No scenario besides the current one benefits NU!

Please argue against that statement from a NU fan, team, or student-athlete perspective!
