[NU Sports] Carmody job security

I hope BC sends 1/2 or 2/3 of each paycheck to Bienen (or some charity of
Bienen's). The man has stolen salary from us his whole career.

No other Major conference basketball coach has hung on for so long amidst
such failure, thanks largely to a guardian angel

Any other Big Ten program (or any legitimate program, really), would have
tossed him years ago.

Again, makes me yearn for Rich Falk and Kevin O'Neill (not quite for Bill
Foster, though it's getting close)

If they don't fire him at the end of this season, and we still have a lot of
games left with some decent talent to play them, then I think he's got
another year.

Remember that the new guy would only stop the AD from doing something he
didn't agree with, not force and issue early. I honestly think you give BC
another year, but would be prepared to make a change in February is things
go south in 2010. I like BC's chances of getting it together with either
Rowley, Shurna or Mirkovic inside. One of them will step up by the end of
January, and then I think we see more inside play which opens everything
else up.

I noticed our Center way outside in the 2nd half tonight. That was where our
inside guys used to drain 3's/ I think Shurna has the shot, and the two
Croats should also be able to hit out there.

Thompson has to stop rushing shots - we couldn't run with MSU tonight and
the "little guy" just kept trying to force a 3 pointer without setting up.

Oh well.

I think BC's team, with some experience inside, will be really good next
year.... it's this year that's the trouble.

For Moore's sake, you almost wish he'd been hurt earlier in his career so he
could come back with Coble and Thompson for another year - Shurna and Rowley
just need more games inside.

Henry doesn't step down until 9/1/09. No one fires their basketball coach
in the fall. Assuming the present trend continues throughout the season
(and I'm not suggesting it will or won't), does Bill nonetheless keep his
job through the 09-10 season?
