I'd like to say that I'm disappointed.
 But the crushing history of spectacular and can-you-top-this Northwestern basketball defeats leaves me feeling mostly resigned.
 I appreciate Coach Roy's analysis. But the fact is that other teams, lots of other teams, play freshman who can actually play basketball.
 This, make no mistake, was a very bad defeat. It was televised all over the country. I've heard by now from several non-Northwestern friends asking how we managed to lose.
 Which makes me wonder whether this game was the final nail in Carmody's Wildcat coaching coffin.

The danger of playing Frosh is that they don't have the experience to beat things like the full court press ILL put on us at the end.

4 guards and a big man managed to tie up Juice and Moore - a couple of decent point guards - and forced Mirk to make some true frosh mistakes.

The last few opponents have tied up Coble's drives to the hoop, it's like they're daring Moore to shoot 3's and clogging up the inside blocking the back door cuts. Coble still scores, but at times he's shut out. At the end we just couldn't get open looks to drain the baskets we needed to finish.

Luka called time out one time before the ILL guys fouled him (or so the commentators said) another freshman mistake.

Not sure who steps up next year and takes over for Moore. Nash and Williams are two candidates, but they've got to push their playing time to be more productive on offense (IMHO). This year we've seen some great D from Nash and that is a good thing.

But I'm afraid we have to win the BT tourney to go dancing now.
