You're probably right, Dennis. Actually, I hope so, and I think that's the
way it should be.
Similarly, I would guess that both my professional aspirations and
expectations and my employer's are higher than the already-high expectations
of our organization from the general public. And my expectations for myself
tend to be even higher than the rather high expectations my employer has for
me. So, I would hope that Fitz and the 'Cats are striving for their own
"High Hopes" goals every year and working hard to achieve them. If they
fall short of those aspirational goals I'm not going to get too bent out of
shape if they're doing the things they should be doing and give me (a) the
feeling that we can be competitive in every game and have a realistic hope
of winning each game in which we play, and (b) the experience of a magical
season (i.e., a Big Ten Championship) frequently enough that I don't
completely forget what it's like.

I'll bet Fitz's standards, while realistic, aren't that low.
