I'm with Mr. Warner on this.
As I stated earlier:
"I know there are differing camps on this list about BCS/MNC/playoffs..."
In football, I am only interested in seeing NU win the conference and the Rose Bowl. I didn't need more than that when I started cheering for NU in 1986 and two decades later I still don't.
I respect the differing opinions others on this list have, I just don't share them.

Nope, some of us would just get more enjoyment seeing NU in The Rose Bowl
than in a BCS championship game. For some of us, who for more than 1/2 a
century believed in and enjoyed the Big Ten/Pac Ten tradition, The Rose Bowl
is and will always be greater and better than the BCS ever could be.

So let's get this straight: All you doctors, lawyers, business people, etc.
who have done so well from your days at Northwestern are content to be
middling? I assume you are not content with the average or even the merely
good. Why expect it from your football team?
