The first half should be required viewing for all Big Ten coaches, especially those playing SEC or Florida teams.
You could almost hear John Saunders and the Mimbo cackling with glee on that opening play going right off their ABC scripts for New Year's Day -- the dominant Florida speed catches the flat-footed midwesterners off guard. Bwahhahaha!
But Wisconsin didn't panic and stuck with their game plan - smart play calling with mixing in 1st down passes, aggressive defense and a healthy dose of shoving the ball down their throat to control the clock.
There's still a half to go and anything can happen (Wisconsin really needs to come out and score on this first drive after the half), but it really is a lesson to Big Ten coaches to stick with what works, stick with sound football and don't get caught up in the speed hype. It's not a track meet - it's a football game. Play as a team, play smart and play 60 minutes. That's Northwestern football!
Go Big Ten!!!
