:) - I would call it the "year of the douche" with Kobe the Rapist, Smug Phil "X" and A-Roid proving that nice guys finish last.

However, you could also look at it as an "Empire Strikes Back" year with the Lakers, Yankees and Steelers -- arguably the top franchises in their respective sports (the Celtics might argue that :) ) -- all returning to the top. All that was missing was a Canadiens Stanley Cup, though the Pens and Red Wings may be the next in line after the Habs.

College was actually a brief respite -- sure there was the usual B-C-Mess and "big boys" ... and two of my least favorite teams in the Gators and Heels won, but both featured nice stories of certain pro prospects returning to school for the joy of the college game. And, of course, it was a nice year for NU and hopefully that's the one thing that carries over into 2010.
