1) We just paid. The tickets make there way to the appropriate people via NU.
2) There is no fee for donated tickets. We just bought an additional 4 for donation and it was straight ticket cost.

Fellow Wildcat Faithful,
I am waiting on my first paycheck in Korea, but I plan to donate two bowl tickets.
With respect to not selling the 11,000 allotment, I am disappointed that NU isn't more creative. I don't think they do much to educate season ticket holders on the importance of buying through NU. But beyond that, there are two things I can think of to make NU's goal easier.
1) Improve the donating process. I donated 4 Alamo Bowl tickets last year to Big Brothers/Big Sisters of San Antonio, but I had to do the legwork myself. I received the tickets in Nashville, then mailed them overnight to San Antonio and received a tax deduction letter from BBBS.
NU should step in and make this easier. On the NU bowl ticket website there should be a button that says 'Click here to Donate' and then 4-5 tax deductible options. Perhaps, BBBS, USO, Red Cross (I really don't care which groups). Then when you purchase the tickets, NU sends them directly to the organization and the organization gets your information so that they can send you the tax deduction letter.
I emailed NU Athletics about this last year and never heard back.
2) Waive the $8 per ticket fee on donated tickets. If NU is ultimimately going to have to buy 4,000+ tickets then this is a small sacrifice to generate more sales.
Merry Christmas to you all.
Victory & Honor,
Jim
