Seems to me that's the way things were with all bowl seats - even our allotment in Pasadena. Granted I was in the band then, but I know we were end zone corner in the Rose and Citrus, and my brother was in the band corner for the Alamo and Motor City.

Just another reason to scratch your heads and wonder why we're perpetuating the current system. :)

Actually it will be very interesting to watch the bowl attendance figures this year. I've seen a bunch of NFL games with empty seats in recent weeks, and I imagine most of the "now rendered meaningless thanks to the B(C)S" bowl games will be more than half empty as well.

Funny how all the arguments against a playoff just keep falling down - first it was academics (but then came the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday games), then the grand pageantry of the bowls (which they're now trying to take away from the one bowl in Pasadena that's managed to keep it!) ... now it seems like the "but fans won't be able to travel to playoff games and we want seats filled" argument is falling as well.

I'm sure there will be plenty of purple in Tampa - let's win one of these things before the whole bloated system collapses upon itself!:)
