[NU Sports] NU Needs your help - pass the word

But a great many NU fans are not among the sponsors/corporations and have
gone commercial to get good seats. I am sorry not to be among them.
Athletic Dept perhaps should be a little more honest since they presumably knew
the allotment would be in the end zone but played the loyalty harp to sell
them. I agree that Outback Bowl is at fault as well when they want bowl
team supporters to make the costly travel commitment to come and spend big
bucks locally and then are relegated to end zone seats. We expect this to
happen when we travel to Iowa City or State College, but the bowls really
could do better. And NU should be more open about what they have been given
and it is indeed "the best they can get" by their own admission.

I understand completely - but do not blame this on NU. This has nothing
to do with "is this the best they can get".

If you want to blame and complain, then do so to the Outback Bowl not NU.

Outback is a huge corporate event and every decent seat is pre-sold to
sponsors and corporations or Outback Bowl season ticket holders.
There are several events including the luncheon which are invite only --
all sponsors, no real fans.

I must say that my concern about selling the NU allotment is undermined by

realization that my tickets are in the corner end zone (Section 120). For

a 30+ year season ticket holder. Can't NU do better than that? No
wonder so many NU fans have gone to commercial sources, which I will do
next
time. No wonder the Athletic Dept is having trouble selling its
allotment,
but they have no one to blame themselves if the end zone is the best they
can
offer.

NU still has several thousand Outback Bowl tickets from their allotment
that have not been sold. But I know there will be lots of purple in the
stands because of seats bought on StubHub etc.

I know many of you on this list are going to the game --but if you are
not, and have the capability to do so,
please order a ticket and have it donated to a student or a member of the
armed forces.

_www.nusports.com_ (http://www.nusports.com/) and click donate ticket

And please pass this along to other fans you know

This is really important for future consideration of bowl games
