Fitz was at the game. 7th row underneath the 2nd half offensive basket with one of his sons eating popcorn.
Tavaras spoke at the FBC reception prior to the game along with Jitim(his birthday is today -- there was cake at the reception). Jitin played in Poland last year. He has enjoyed greece the most of his euorpean tour. He has counseled Juice on multiple occasions. We displayed our admiration of his playing big and just general guts. Tavaras talked about the recruit and how Coble and Ryan(I'm shocked) are back next year. He talked about becoming Duke. Personally our student-ahtletes should follow a higher standard.
We got confirmation about the 4K-ish outback bowl tickets remaining from a reliable source. Kind of depressing. The person we talked to bought 14 tickets compared to their 3-4 season tickets and we bought 5 for our 3 season tickets. Now who hasn't bought/donated tickets?
The men have beaten ACC, Big 12, Pac 10, and Big East. The women's team have beaten Big 12, Big East, and SEC opponents. Awesome.
I can't think of a year with so many NU teams doing well. If you just consider calendar 2009 -- men's soccer, softball, lacrosse, fencing, football, women's basketball, and men's basketball all had good years. I think tennis, golf, field hockey, and even cross country had good results this year.

First chance I've had this year to watch most of an NU game -- LOVED the defensive intensity (steals) and rebounds, and ball movement. Cringed at the free throw shooting, but at least we were getting the other team into foul trouble.
But most of all, it was really fun to watch our kids play as a team -- not sure how they'll fare in a rugged Big Ten this year, but I like our quiet confidence and heart to not get flustered when it got close at the end. And it was great seeing Fitz and his boys there.
GO CATS!!!

PS - We should be playing Stanford in every sport! It's turning into a nice rivalry on the court and it would be a great series in football as well. We're natural intersectional rivals. Let the Domers and Spoiled Children have their annual battle -- I'd love seeing Harbaugh vs. Fitz every year on the field, basketball battles and more!
