A stat was presented during the game today; all 4 of our losses to Stanford ( which occured in the last 4 years) were by 6 points or less. Fast forward to today; we got a little tentative and let a 10 point lead get whittled to 1; then won the game.
This was a big win, no question about it. We got Stanford in foul trouble, and did enough to take advantage of the situation. Free throw shooting was lousy in the 1st half; OK in the 2nd.
Stanford had Kentucky and Oklahoma St. on the ropes, but missed free throws. We made them in the 2nd half; Shurna was awesome; especially in the 1st half.
I'm looking forward to next week; Illinois and Michigan St. If we go 3-5 our first 8 "in conference games", and beat the 2 road kill teams mixed in, I think we'll make hay the second half of conference play and make the tournement. Great game to watch! GO CATS!! Eric
