It would have been interesting if that last second had come off the
clock in Dallas before the ball hit the ground.
The BCS would have crumbled and the head coach of one of the teams
potentially playing for the national championship could have announced
that he didn't plan to coach that game.
Wow.
That might have been enough to push Tiger off the front page.
That also might have been enough to prod congress into passing the
anti-BCS bill that gets introduced every year.

All of you who weighed in are right on many of the responses you gave.
In some sense I was trying to prompt a discussion. However, the
imbalance between how coaches are treated and how players are treated
once their coach bolts is just abysmal. Having read some of the
responsive posts, I now see that my "solution" may be unworkable.
Nonetheless, if Cincy were playing for the BCS Title, and Kelly were
going to ND leaving his team to play for the crown without him, this
situation would prompt a national outcry.
