Stephen,
I generally love almost all of your posts and look forward to your sage analyses, but I have been holding this in all season, and it's finally coming out. Enough already, please, about the Big Least!!! Cincy, Pitt and W.V. all had fine teams and good seasons. And don't forget low-level 'Cuse beat our 'Cats--injuries are no excuse, if the Big Least is as bad as you say. I agree that the Big East is not a powerful gridiron conference, but it does not deserve to be the whipping boy you portray. UConn would give the 'Cats and other BT teams a go as well. I agree that Rutgers has been overrated the past few years, but considering where they used to be, Schiano has done a great job. For those of us on the Eastern Seabord the Big East is our home conference, so can you kindly stop whomping on it.:-)
Regards,
Paul

Well, so much for the "big name surprise" like Stoops or reaching for Urban.:)
Kelly seems like a good fit for ND -- all O and no D -- but I think he's going
o be sorry he made the move. At Cincy he was king of a weak conference and
ould get second pick of the Ohio litter in there to outscore some pretty poor
efenses.
Granted, ND plays a heavily Big Least schedule - but they have a bit tougher
cademic standards and don't exactly have a lot of offense left there with their
unk QB and Golden Tate leaving. The Irish are going to want results quickly.
I feel bad for the Cincy players - it really kind of ruins their bowl game and
heir shot to get a big-time win over Florida and prove their puffed-up record
s legit. I think Tebow might hang 60 on them now as a swan song. Cry Tebow Cry!
Let's hope Kelly winds up like the last coach who left the Big East champs after
uuuuust missing the national title game to move up to one of the big boys and
ry to counter their physicality - RichRod.:)
I dunno -- this seems like a safe choice, but hardly one that will pump up the
lumni or wake up the echoes with visions of a quick turnaround. I haven't seen
heir schedule last year, but will assume it's the same Big Ten/USC sandwich
ith plenty of creampuffs in the middle. He might squeak out six wins, but I
hink Domers might be bowlless again in 2010.
But hey, as long as they didn't snap up Fitz, it's all good!:)
GO CATS!!!
SjT
