Well, if that's the standard then at least half the Big Ten isn't qualified--OSU, Michigan, and Penn State for starters.
The truth, if some of you could get past your anti-ND bias, is that we have significantly more in common with Notre Dame than any of our current conference-mates. It would seem that having another small, private, academically-oriented university in the Big Ten would only help advance the concerns and priorities of such institutions.
If expansion is a given, the LAST thing I'd want to see is yet another monster state university join.
