I never avoid Ybor City...then again, I'm single and enjoy an hour or two at Scarlett's. But no, probably not a good idea to actually stay there. ;)
And, again, I'm single, but the best steak I've had in Tampa, better than Bern's, better than Ruth's Chris, is at the Penthouse Club.
All bachelorhood aside, if you have the dough, Longboat Key is only 45 minutes away and there are some great resorts along the Key and neighboring Sarasota is a great city.
