A bit more info on what seems to have been the Cats' best three-game stretch away from Evanston before this one, back in 1968-69:
Dec. 26 @ Gator Bowl Classic, NU def. Fla. 76-72 (Fla., captained by Neal Walk, was 3-2 at the time and finished 18-9 and third in SEC)
Dec. 27 @ Gator Bowl Classic, NU def. Boston College 77-68 (BC, coached by Bob Cousy, was 5-2 at the time and finished 24-4)
Jan. 4 @ E. Lansing, NU def. Michigan State 85-71 (Spartans were 4-4 at the time and finished 11-12 and tied for 5th in conf. with the Cats)
**That 1968-69 season seems to be the last time the Cats were nationally ranked - - they were 19th at the time of the MSU game and rose to 12th, but lost in OT to #4 Illinois and then lost six of their next seven games. NU finished 14-10, 6-8 in Big Ten.

Judging from media guide (link below), this three-game stretch away from Evanston seems like the Cats' best since at least 1968-69, if you take the quality of opponents into account.
