There seems to be some disagreement betweenthe Gator Bowl, which desperately
wants FSU and the ACC about the interpretation of the rules. Basically,
there is a two loss jump rule in the ACC, which would seem to prohibit the
Gator Bowl from taking FSU, assuming GaTech wins the ACC Championship game.
That would leave Va Tech for Chick Fil A, Miami for the Gator and Clemson
to us. However, the Gator maintains that, assuming Va Tech goes to the
Chick Fil A (can you believe this is the second place bowl?) they are free
to take FSU since they will have already fulfilled an obligation to take the
loser of the ACC Championship before (it's apparently a once in four year
obligation). Whether the Gator gets FSU appears to depend on two things
happening:
1) Ga. Tech winning the ACC championship game, and 2) Va. Tech being taken
by Chick Fil A. If that happens we may end up with Miami in Orlando. I
for one can't wait. I'd love to beat the Canes, and beat them we will.
