Yes, Jonathan, but I don't expect NU (or ''Cuse) not to schedule games on Jewish High Holidays--just not with each other--that's the rub, as the Bard might put it.?

This was just announced:
http://nusports.cstv.com/sports/m-footbl/spec-rel/082809aab.html
The game will be at 6PM CT and will at a minimum be streaming on the internet via Syracuse's athletics web page.? Per the page, "TV plans are still being finalized."? I would imagine this likely means ESPN+ coverage with syndication, especially given the time of the game.? Also note that I believe ESPN+ games are available on ESPN360.com.
Finally, regarding holding games on the Jewish high holidays, this happens every few years due to the college football schedule and the fact that games basically have to be held on Saturdays and must also fit into the TV schedule - neither of which account for the holidays.? There's not much the individual schools can do about that outside of just not scheduling a game for that week, which wasn't an option for NU this year (technically NU could have scheduled a nonconference game for Thanksgiving weekend or later, but there are very few teams available to schedule games then); only if there was a shift across all of college football would something really change and there isn't a large enough outcry for that to be a factor.

A couple of comments, in response to the last few emails:
1) As an XM subscriber, I can tell you that they don't cover all of the Big
?Ten games (usually just 2 or 3), but since NU-'Cuse involves two of the
largest ?markets (NYC--see below--and Chicago), I think they will cover this
contest.
2) I am very confident that ESPN+ will pick up the game in the NYC area, as
?'Cuse has been marketing itself aggressively as New York City's "home
team" for ?the past year or two--with even a billboard in Times Square. ?And, as
the ?father of one of them, I can tell you that 'Cuse has a HUGE alumni
base in the ?NYC/Long Island/Westchester/etc. area.
3) The Administation and Athletic Departments of both schools should ?be
strongly rebuked for the scheduling of this game--on Rosh Hashanah ?(Jewish
New Year)--given the large percentage of Jewish students and alums
(especially NU alums in the NY metropolitan area like Yours Truly, and others on ?our
List like Willie Weinbaum, who planned on going, but then learned of the
conflict and realized we couldn't attend). ?My disappointment was somewhat
mitigated by the scheduling of a game at Army in two years, but is still
palpable.
