[NU Sports] Purdue Game

I am always amazed how a kid who was mediocre at best early in his playing
days, can suddenly bloom into a star.

Something happens to star players when they turn 18, and again 21. Not sure
why but for some reason, the HS kids I see every day seem to figure out that
it takes hard work to play at the top level when they turn 18. You see the
same thing in college kids when they turn 21, between soph and junior years
if they redshirt.

Kafka is in that second group, and if he is for real, we'll know at the
spring game. If not, Fitz has already said that Persa is pushing and will
continue to push. (and I wonder if Brewer is taking any snaps?)

There is hope for our game in W. Lafayette on October 3rd.? Purdue's QB
hopeful, a redshirt soph, is academically ineligible (suspended) for 2009
season:?

They have a fifth-year senior who will probably be the QB, but I have to
assume that if he were a real stud QB, he would have been playing over the
past few years.

Now if Mr. Kafka can add the arm to the legs........
