[NU Sports] Iowa

I attended last year's Iowa game in Evanston. Ugh. The Wildcats should
have won. Had the Hawkeyes down in the fourth quarter and then suffered
defensive lapses.
 I don't see that happening this year. At the risk of incurring bad
karma and jinx and all of that, this defense isn't -- for the first time
in maybe 10 years -- causing me to stroke out every time the NU defense
takes to the field. What a pleasant surprise, indeed.
 It seems fairly clear to me that Bacher's passing suffered against the
Bobcats bc of the whack he took to the hand. Kudos for him that he's not
making excuses. So I'll do it for him. 
 BTW I highly recommend Mr. Weinbaum's epic on Mr. Bostock. Kudos to Mr.
Weinbaum and everyone he worked with on that piece of work. 
 Am myself making plans to attend the Michigan game with a few of my
fraternity brothers circa 1980. Anyone else planning to be in Ann Arbor
as the Wildcats upend big bad Blue?

Injuries are more secretive now because...it's the law.? New rules on
medical privacy (the HIPAA law, I think) prohibit a lot of injury
information from being given out to the public now, at all levels of
sports.? They also govern what reporters can record/photograph at
hospitals.? Maybe another journalist on this list who covers sports on a
daily basis can elaborate...I've moved on to <shudder> politics.

According the banter here, Fitz said very little about it, except that
he will play--Bacher has sprained fingers as well--Again not much more
info than
that--

We need these guys healthy to have a shot at the Hawkeyes
