[NU Sports] Andrew Brewer

Brewer was definitely in for the first 2 games of the year (Syracuse and
Duke) and actually led NU in receptions (6) and receiving yards (48) against
Syracuse. But, he has had a large number of drops, especially against Duke,
that started to cost NU. In the SIU game, he only played one offensive down
that I saw (a direct snap to Conteh that everyone knew was going to be a run
anyways), and didn't play any offensive snaps against Ohio that I saw.
Against Ohio, Brewer was shaken up on punt coverage (which he apparently did
play) - it looks like he took quite a big hit and was probably just shaken
up in general.
He has the speed and football skills, but I think the question may become if
he can continue to learn the receiver position and improve the skills
specific to that position like catching the ball well and running good
routes to get good separation. Yes, injuries have contributed to his lack
of playing time the past 2 games, but I also suspect that getting the best
true receivers on the field may also have something to do with it (because
NU has a good slew of receivers that it can throw out on the field).
